Bernstein challenges centuries-old conventions in this innovative and thought-provoking piece, exploring the conflict between old and new in a fast-changing society. From solemn hymns and soothing meditations to edgy symphonic dances, and with an exciting infusion of Broadway, blues, rock, jazz and pop idioms, Mass is an eclectic blend of musical styles and genres.
