OMM is a volunteer orchestra that cares deeply about making high-quality music and giving back to the community. If you share our commitment to these causes, we would love for you to join us! OMM's membership requirements include participation in one concert and one community engagement activity a year, OR volunteering regularly with our orchestra committee.

Audition Process:
The audition has two main stages:

• Application and Video Screening

• Live Audition

Video Screening

1. Interested applicants are to record and upload an unedited video of themselves performing.   

   • More details on the repertoire requirements for specific instruments are in the Video Screening Requirements below.

   • More details on how to upload your video are also in the Video Screening Requirements.

   • If you are a percussionist, you are exempted from submitting a video recording and will be subject to a separate screening process. Please fill up the Audition Form without submitting a video link.

   • If you have difficulties accessing an instrument for the video recording, please indicate it on the Audition Form.

2. Applicants are to fill up the Audition Form by the stipulated deadline and include their video link.

3. Successful applicants will subsequently be informed of their audition time slot. Details on audition venue will also be included in this email.

   
   

Live Audition

1. Applicants will perform a solo unaccompanied work of their choice as well as selected excerpts from our list of Orchestral Excerpts.

   1. The solo work has to be an unaccompanied piece of about 3 to 5 minutes.

2. Following the audition, please be prepared to stay for a short interview with one of our committee members.

   
   

VIDEO screening requirements

Repertoire Requirements:

• An unaccompanied work of about 3 to 5 minutes.

Video Format Requirements:

• The video should be of a minimum video quality of 720 pixels (at least 1280x720p).

• The applicant’s full body must be within the frame of the video and their instrument and hands must be clearly visible.

• The video should be taken such that the applicant occupies at least half the height of the video frame.

• The video should be uploaded to YouTube as “unlisted” and the video link must be provided in the audition form.

• The video should be filmed no more than 6 months prior to submission.

If any of these requirements are not met, OMM reserves the right to reject the application. We look forward to seeing you at the auditions!
