Can I sign up for more than one instrument?

Yes, but you must audition for each instrument you sign up for.

Is there an age limit?

Yes. Applicants are typically between 13-25 years of age. However, if you fall outside this category, we will consider your application on a case-by-case basis.

I have no experience playing in an orchestra. Can I still sign up?

Yes! The camp welcomes all musicians regardless of experience and background.

Are there any formal requirements to be eligible to sign up for the camp?

No. Applicants will be accepted based on their performance at the audition. You need to be able to play an orchestral instrument.

DOES MY VIDEO NEED TO BE IN ONE TAKE?

It does not have to be in one take! However, do make sure that both the video and the excerpts are taken no more than 6 months before the submission.

Do I have to pay a fee for the camp?

A cash deposit of $20 will be required for this camp. Participants are expected to be present for all camp activities unless they have informed the camp committee of their absence before 1 October 2024.

To reflect the value of the camp resources, $5 will be deducted from the cash deposit of $20 for every unaccounted absence, except for extenuating circumstances such as illness. Such cases will be managed on a case-by-case basis, and any changes to attendance should be made known to the camp committee at the earliest possible date.

The cash deposit will be collected at the start and returned at the end of the camp.

Can I still sign up if I cannot make it for some dates?

Yes, but your application will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The committee reserves the right to reject your application if you miss rehearsal dates or sessions.

Is it an overnight camp?

No, camp activities typically occur between 10am and 5pm. The confirmed schedule will be sent to successful applicants in due course.

Do I have to print my own scores?

No, scores will be provided during rehearsals. However, the parts will be uploaded and emailed to you before the camp, and you may print them out for your personal use if you wish.

Will instruments be provided for the camp?

With the exception of percussion and timpani, please bring your own instrument for the camp. For double bassists who do not have an instrument, please let us know via the signup form, and we will make arrangements.
