FRENCH IMPRESSIONS

digital Release

“French Impressions” opens with composer Lee Jinjun's orchestration of Debussy's dream-like masterpiece, Rêverie. Ravel's effervescent Le Tombeau de Couperin follows, written to commemorate friends killed in the first world war.

Singaporean Flutist Cheryl Lim then takes on one of the greatest works for flute - Prokofiev's Flute Sonata, arranged for flute and orchestra by Jonathan Shin, before the programme finishes with Poulenc's lighthearted, energetic and quirky Sinfonietta.
